Blues Dinner and Dancing Night at Club Duck Key - 2013

Cluck Duck Key invited all residents of Duck Key to come and join in an event of dancing fun, some blue's music, and unbelievable good food.

The evening started with beads placed around your neck - a hurricane cocktail, beer on tap, or red/white wine. It was great to see so many people that live on the island of Duck Key come and enjoy themselves.

A table of hors d'oeuvres was first up. Colin made his smoked Spanish mackerel and amberjack dip and sliced fish, which he caught in our beautiful Florida Keys' water. Plus, a full table of other tasty items.

The music was live! The Graydens were able to book a cool band, Pit Bull of Blues Band, from the Miami area. This 3 man band - drummer, and 2 guitar players (a father and son), entertained the night away. No one, we mean no one, could stay in their seats. The good music placed everyone out on the dance floor to shake-it-up.

In between the great music, dinner was served. Pork tenderloin prepared by Bill C., using a mojo marinate, was fork tender and juicy. Colin made a recipe he learned while in a cooking class in New Orleans, and it was fantastic - chicken and sausage gumbo with perfect rice. So glad you visited New Orleans, Colin. Nancy D.'s New Orleans style vegetable dish was...well, fantastic... also, the salad and relish you made. (I'm using fantastic too many times in this report...lol). Desserts: Susan R.'s bread pudding with whiskey sauce and Nancy D.'s chocolate bread pudding with bourbon, well, both just knocked it out of the ball park.

Club Duck Key is sorry if you missed this night and it all took place on our beautiful island of Duck Key. Thank you's go to the event coordinators, the Graydens, the D'Angelos, and the Showermens, plus a very large group of wonderful people who volunteered their time and talent to make this an evening of good friends, fun dancing, and great food.
