Hot Havana Nights at Club Duck Key - 2013

Betsy C. was the hostess for this fun event at Club Duck Key, plus lots of helping hands from Club Duck Key members that have traveled to Havana - what a treat!

The authentic Cuban food was catered by Habanos Oceanfront - fork tender pulled pork, black beans and rice, yucca, and fried to perfection, plantains. A tossed green salad and Cuban bread. Betsy made the best avocado salad ever brought to one of the Club's tables - truly. Eddie M. placed his signature cocktail, the mojito, in hands before anyone was able to sit down. A perfect round table of hors d'oeuvres to start the evening and tasty desserts to finish - all made with Cuban guava in the recipes.

The Club Members were entertained by the famous Club Duck Key Players, a production of Hot Havana Nights at the Tropicana. Click here to watch the video. Their performance was funny and absolutely fabulous.

Ganine and Theo (Theo & Ganine's Dance Center) performed a Salsa dance, Cuban style - a fast twirling dance. Their feet never stayed on the dance floor for more than a second - it was magical to watch. After their performance, the Club Members with family and friends were given instructions - now that was fun to watch. The DJ's, Anita and Jim, did a fine job of keeping all the music going and Members dancing.

The Club was nicely decorated using Steve and Fran's handmade pottery filled with lots of colorful plants, flowers, and palm trees.

Club Duck Key got to travel to Havana for one fast fun evening. And, the shock of seeing beloved friends, Bob and Fran, in the production made the whole evening.
