Club Duck Key members had LOTs of laughs and giggles when they joined in the fun at this year's Pig Pickin' Party. Members were instructed to come as a cowboy, cowgirl, saloon girl, gambler, con artist, bartender - whatever... something Western. Plus, line dancing lessons were given prior to the event.

Everyone looked fabulous- from getting a peek at Marcel's western underwear to Miss Becky's fantastic saloon girl outfit....(insert wolf whistle here). Actually, all the saloon "ladies" looked great - Miss Robin, Miss JoAnne, Miss Fran - Miss Geneva and Miss Susie were more on the line of cowgirls with their boots and hats. All the cowgirls and cowboys looked great from beautiful boots, hats, overalls, skirts, and western shirts to bandanas.

But, the best-dressed prize of course was a throw down with Merlynn and Jim's outfits - our very own Indian princess to the handsome cowboy who found her on the prairie. Jim saddled up Trigger and rode home with Indian princess on the rump.

Decorations, decorations, and more decorations. Hay, hats, chandeliers, a blacksmith stall, saloon, the telegraph office, a corral to keep the pigs, an Indian Teepee, a jail for those who got out of hand from the shots of the you-know-what. Plus, the dance floor was fenced in and the tables' decor were great.

It is always wonderful to see Brian Neville... his yearly trip down from the mainland to play great western music for line dancing or two stepping and by the way, did you notice how extra handsome he was this year?

The members would like to thank all the people who created this fun event: Robin and Tom Neville; Jim and Merlynn Boback with some help from their out of town guests, Dianna and Dan; Fran and Steve Showerman with some help from their out of town guests, Marybeth and Al; Becky and Joe Townsend and Miss Geneva; JoAnne and Joe Orr; Bob and Gracie Beacham; Jean and Dave Lyon; Lee, Phyllis's daughter (painted a couple of the buildings). Coleslaw was prepared by Fran - plus Anna's mix; pork was prepared by Keith Anderson..mmmm; baked beans by the Nevilles; corn bread by the Lyons; and extra pairs of hands by Jerry Fortier, and our wonderful Brenda and Doyle.

If you are a renter on Duck Key or property owner on Duck Key, please consider joining this fun club, Club Duck Key welcomes you!
